Our community meet and greet hosted by Ngā Hau e Whā o Paparārangi in conjunction with Wellington City Council was held on 16 Hakihea / December 2017.

Starting with a mihi whakatau, our whānau welcomed our visitors onto our marae. After the whakatau, we adjourned into our whare, where Deputy Mayor Jill Day, Councillor Peter Gilberd and council staff addressed our local community about 'Our City Tomorrow'

The speakers were supported by our kapa haka whānau who sang waiata to tautoko the speakers.

The majority of the manuhiri then joined the council staff to walk our newly opened track ' Te Ara Paparārangi!' Meanwhile, we the tangata whenua, remained behind to prepare the hakari.

Our manuhiri returned after their walk to sit down and enjoy a veritable feast, hangi and a BBQ with a variety of fresh salads to kinaki the wonderful assortment of meat.

An awesome day!
